“A Scout is never taken by surprise; he knows exactly what to do when anything unexpected happens.”-Sir Robert Baden Powell
Troop 217 is a Boy Scout Troop located on the east side of Saint Paul that caters to people from multiple ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. We thrive to instill a sense of determination and integrity within every young man and young woman who walks through the door.
The BSA goal is to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations. For younger members, the Scout method is part of the program to inculcate typical Scouting values such as trustworthiness, good citizenship, and outdoors skills, through a variety of activities such as camping, aquatics, hiking and social interactions.
Our goal is to ready young men and women to be successful and productive in their family, school and society.
